To the right of the Town Hall stands another imposing building, the impressive Casa Palacio de los Solazar, where Don Manuel Quintana lived, a Spanish ecclesiastic and viticulturist, noted for having been the one who imported from Bordeaux (France) the winemaking techniques that, more Later, they spread throughout La Rioja and the rest of Spain.
It currently houses the facilities of the House of Culture of Labastida and the Tourist Office, among other municipal services. It is a building made of masonry stone, with a rectangular floor plan, in which the axis formed by the portal, balcony and coat of arms stands out.
Both this building and the Town Hall have been recently restored, which allows us to appreciate them practically as they were built at the end of the 18th century.
Fortunately, the Palacio de los Solazar, which was in a sorry state, was recovered through restoration interventions carried out in the 1980s and converted into the headquarters of the Casa de la Cultura de Labastida.
It is a good palace also located in the Plaza de la Paz, in front of the Town Hall and the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption. Built in the 18th century, it has a rich façade with a door and highly molded balconies and the coat of arms of the lineage on the central balcony.
Along the axis that makes up the Calle Mayor, which begins at the Arco de Larrazuría and ends at the Plaza de la Paz, and its continuation, Calle Frontín, the Historic Center of the municipality is crossed, where the traveler will come across the highest concentration of palaces and emblazoned houses in Labastida.
Next, we are going to highlight two of them: The Paternina Palace House at number 9 and the Garizábal Family Palace House at number 1 6, both on Calle Mayor.
