Fountains, Aqueducts and Hermitages

Strolling through Labastida is life!! In addition to a spectacular natural landscape, perfect weather conditions, the vineyard and other crops,  Mount Toloño , the  medieval wineries and necropolis  ... we find other attractions such as fountains, aqueducts, hermitages, remains of a convent, the Ebro river path and others. elements that the passage of time has not been able to erase.

Thus, in Labastida we have -not one, but- 2 aqueducts!!! One of them on  the walk of Machimbrao  and the other on the road to  San Ginés . The most spectacular is the latter, that of San Andrés de Muga, which from the "fountain of the friars" brought water "to the convent", located several kilometers away from Labastida towards the Ebro road and whose remains (very few) we can contemplate.

To the aforementioned Camino del Ebro we "can get hooked" in one direction or the other and travel several kilometers along the banks of this great river.

The Fuente de la Salud or Fontsagrada are very close to the municipality and a walk towards them is a guarantee of health. The Peña Castrijo or the "trout lake" or the remains of "Tabuérniga" are other attractions that you will find on your walks.

Hermitages deserve a separate mention. The Remelluri hermitage, belonging to Bodegas Remelluri, contemplates the passage of time "without disheveled" and hides some highly valuable paintings inside. The hermitage of Santa Lucía was built on an old town (Torrontejo) in whose excavations pre-Iberian remains have been found, which dates back to the importance of the settlement. And finally, San Ginés, which deserves a full stop, visiting its link.
